We're building a modern, conflict-free approach to financial planning - one where your success is the only thing that matters.
There is a difference between giving good advice and giving the most complete advice possible.

Jared Webb learned that distinction from the inside. His family's firm, Fernhill Financial, has been serving clients across British Columbia and Alberta since 1994, built on honest investment and insurance guidance and relationships that have lasted decades. DesignWealth is what that practice grew into.
But the evolution started with a nagging observation Jared could not shake: in every client meeting, information was being collected that could do so much more work than it was being asked to do. Net worth, insurance coverage, wills, outstanding debts, goals. The data was there. The expertise was there. The full conversation was not happening.
When the idea of doing more started to take shape, it found an early believer in Josue Dubon. A fellow CFP and Wealth Mentor, Josue had been building his career in Manitoba before relocating to Victoria, drawn partly by the weather, but more by what he found when he researched what was being built here. The philosophy, the approach, the conviction that financial advice could and should do more for people, it fit with what he already believed. He joined when DesignWealth was still an idea rather than a firm, and helped shape what it became.
Together, they worked through what a different kind of practice could look like: one that kept investment advice and insurance guidance as genuine, standalone services, but added something the industry had quietly reserved for clients with significant assets, comprehensive financial planning for anyone who could benefit from it. The income-based planning fee, 1.25% of household income rather than a percentage of assets, was the structural answer. It makes serious financial planning viable for the person who earns well but is still building, the person the traditional model was not set up to serve.
Not every client wants or needs financial planning. Some come to DesignWealth for investment guidance. Some for insurance. Some for both. That is not a lesser version of the relationship, it is a different one, and it is perfectly valid.
Using a fitness analogy: not everyone wants a full training program. Some want to eat better and do what they can. Some can only commit to two days a week and want to make those two days count. What matters is not the path chosen but that the person is moving in a direction that is right for their situation. DesignWealth meets clients where they are. For those who want the full picture, a plan that coordinates cash flow, debt, investments, insurance, tax, and estate together, the team is built to deliver it. For those who want one piece of that, the same care and the same standards apply. Today DesignWealth is licensed across British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba, with a goal of reaching as many Canadians as possible.
Those standards start with how the team is structured. Jared and Josue are the CFP-certified Wealth Mentors, the client-facing advisors behind every planning and investment relationship. They are supported by a dedicated team, each with a specific role: financial planning analysis, investment and insurance implementation, client experience and coordination. Nobody is trying to do everything at once. The right person handles the right task, and nothing falls through.
And one thing does not change across any of it: nothing recommended to a client is something the team would not hold themselves. Their own money, their own families. If it is not good enough for that, it does not get recommended.
The proof shows up in the conversations.
A couple structured their TFSA to fund eight years of car payments while their investments kept growing. They drove off the lot knowing their plan was still on track.
A retired couple takes their grandchildren camping across the country every year, and books the next trip before they are home.
What changed for each of them was not a rate of return. It was certainty: knowing the plan supports the life they actually want to live, not just the one they are saving toward. That is the work DesignWealth does.
Every recommendation is grounded in principle, shaped by experience, and built around your actual situation.
Every strategy we recommend is grounded in established financial planning principles and tested against real-world client outcomes - not sales quotas or trending opinions.
Understanding the psychology of money is just as important as the math. Behavioral finance principles are built into how we plan - helping you make better decisions and stay the course when it counts.
Modern tools and real-time dashboards give you visibility into your financial progress at any time, from anywhere.
We succeed when you succeed. That means giving you honest advice, a plan you can trust, and a team that is genuinely invested in your long-term outcomes - not just the next transaction.
Why have one professional when you can have a team of them? Every DesignWealth client gets the depth of our entire practice - not just one advisor.
Your money is in qualified, regulated, and experienced hands.

You'll feel the difference between a team that loves this work and one going through the motions. We're the first kind, and it shows up in every meeting.
We ask the second question. Your situation isn't a template, and we refuse to treat it like one.
When we make a recommendation, we stand behind it. When we get something wrong, you hear it from us first, along with what we're doing about it.
A plan has to change something real: your tax bill, your timeline, how well you sleep. If it doesn't, it's just paper.
How we did it last year isn't good enough for next year. We keep raising our own bar, because your life doesn't stand still either.
DesignWealth is proudly based in Victoria, British Columbia. We're not just a business here - we're part of the community.
From supporting local financial literacy programs to sponsoring community events, we believe in giving back to the city that has given us so much. Many of our clients are our neighbours, and that personal connection drives everything we do.
Our office at 415-2840 Peatt Road is available for in-person meetings by appointment, and we serve clients across British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba through virtual consultations.
Whether you're just getting started or planning for retirement, we'd love to hear about your goals. Your first conversation is always complimentary.
